Catbaret is NYC’s one-of-a-kind cat-themed variety show—blending comedy, live music, and burlesque (aka purr-lesque!)—created and hosted by Gemma Smith. Since 2018, Catbaret has been bringing together cat lovers and nightlife fans for unforgettable, joy-filled nights celebrating creativity, camp, and com-mew-nity.
After five successful years at QED Astoria, Catbaret now calls Caveat on the Lower East Side home.
With four themed shows each year—like Meowloween, Just Kitten Around, and the Meowy Xmas & Happy Hanukkats Spectacular—Catbaret features standout performers, interactive moments, raffles, and free cat ears for every guest.
Catbaret proudly partners with Rescue NYC to spotlight adoptable cats and support lifesaving animal-welfare work.

Meowloween is our biggest show of the year - a one-night-only Halloween spook-tacular!
Expect a mix of comedy, music, and purr-lesque, plus an audience costume contest and FREE cat ears for all. Hosted by Gemma Smith, this high-energy cabaret brings together NYC nightlife lovers and devoted cat people for a night that’s equal parts cheeky, spooky, and fun!
We’ll also be raffling off cat-tastic prizes, with proceeds benefiting Rescue NYC to support cats in need of loving homes.
